West Cork College is a virtual hub of literature based activities. We offer a range of courses, tours and professional writing skills. Our local courses vary from workshops on Irish literature for adults, to Write A Book projects for children. The free online courses, which are in the process of being set up, will cover Shakespeare’s Sonnets, Irish Gothic Literature and Irish Film. In the near future we will also be providing exclusive holidays with a literary slant, uniquely based in West Cork. These will range from themed weekend breaks to two-week long tours including lectures and private visits to country houses. West Cork College can also customize courses to cater for a group’s personal preferences. We also offer workshops on professional writing skills. and an excellent proof-reading and indexing service.
The College has been set up by Dr. Emma Bidwell and Dr. Bernie McCarthy, who have Ph.Ds in Literature from University College Cork, Ireland. They are both experienced course designers and lecturers. Emma, the writer of this blog, is the Director for the Irish Film section of the University of Limerick International Summer Film School and teaches for the MA course in University College Cork.
